In 1933 my father , A Philip Norton , was aboard the S.S. Nascopie His notes indicate he was at Dundas Harbour, Devon Island on Sept. 1 1933 .It is the Cairn in your photo that intrigues me. His notes say about 2 1/2 miles from the post was a peak about 900 ft above the post and this is where the mounties who were leaving set up the Cairn and left photos and messages .My father , Dr. G Bethume , Capt. Smellie , the Major ,Mr.Watson, the Roses added theirs . Could this possibly be the same Cairn ?

    Bonjour, J'y suis revenu cette année, mais je ne suis pas allé jusqu'à ce cairn ... Je vais regarder les photos que j'ai faite du coin le 31 juillet (je suis rentré du Nunavut il y a 4 jours). Regardez mes autres photos de l'endroit, vous parlez de poste, effectivement il y a 3 cabanes d'un ancien poste de Police Montée canadienne, la distance correspondrait, la hauteur du sommet correspondrait aussi, je me souviens (mais je rechercherai) que nous avions, dans un cairn déposé un message du navire, mais je ne sais pas si c'était ce cairn.
